The Assessment-Based Degree Model

Life Seminary offers an assessment-based academic pathway designed for qualified learners who have already developed substantial knowledge and competencies through prior education, ministry experience, independent study, research, professional training, or other forms of documented learning.

Rather than requiring every qualified candidate to repeat traditional classroom instruction, the Seminary evaluates whether the candidate can demonstrate the competencies and learning outcomes expected of the relevant academic degree. Under this model, candidates are assessed on demonstrated mastery rather than instructional seat time.

We charge for the rigorous verification of academic mastery—not for time spent in a classroom.

2026 Life in Christ Grant

2026 Life in Christ Grant is an institutional academic-access initiative established by Life Seminary to reduce the cost of degree completion for qualified candidates entering the Seminary's competency-based assessment pathway.

Eligible candidates receive institutional support toward the instructional component normally associated with traditional degree programs. As a result, qualified candidates are not required to pay conventional semester-based or credit-hour tuition for instruction they do not need to repeat.

The grant reflects the Seminary's commitment to making rigorous academic assessment accessible to capable learners regardless of where or how their knowledge was acquired.

What candidates contribute toward

Candidates are responsible primarily for the costs associated with academic assessment and credential validation:

Limited Scholarship Funding — September 2026

The 2026 Life in Christ Grant is published in enrolment cycles, and the figures on this page are the terms of the open cycle, which runs through September 30, 2026. A later cycle publishes its own terms. A candidate admitted inside this one has their program fee locked at the figure quoted to them and pays it once, against program access that never expires and is never renewed — so a cycle that closes after admission cannot reprice a degree already begun.

Applying is free and no payment is requested until an admission and Grant decision has been issued, so a candidate loses nothing by applying inside the open cycle.

Why Is the Cost Different From Traditional Universities?

Traditional institutions structure tuition around the delivery of instruction over semesters, credit hours, faculty teaching time, and campus facilities. Life Seminary focuses its resources on one fundamental academic question: can the candidate demonstrate the knowledge and competencies required for the degree?

What the Program Assessment Fee Represents

The program assessment fee is not a payment for a degree. Paid once, it covers the qualifying examination for the published degree plan, unlimited repeat sittings, the credit record, the Seminary's academic assessment and credential-validation process, the electronic degree, and its verification page. There is no term renewal, no per-examination fee, and no retake fee.

The Seminary combines the qualifying-examination score with documented ministry experience under the published result weighting. The reported result carries the minimum recognized percentage at the pass mark, so sitting the examination completes the academic assessment and credits the published degree plan for registrar review.

Academic Integrity

Degrees are earned through demonstrated competency, not purchased through payment of fees.

Life Seminary maintains a clear distinction between payment and academic achievement. The payment of tuition, assessment fees, administrative charges, or credential fees does not independently establish eligibility for an academic award.

Academic decisions are based upon documented performance against established institutional learning outcomes and assessment standards.

Learning is not measured by time alone.

Life Seminary believes that academic competence should ultimately be demonstrated through what a learner knows, understands, analyzes, applies, and can independently accomplish. Traditional classroom instruction remains an important pathway to higher education—but it is not the only pathway through which advanced knowledge may be acquired. The Seminary's competency-based assessment model provides an alternative pathway for qualified learners whose prior learning already substantially satisfies program expectations.
